The past week has of course been very stressful for everyone. Like many people, I'm afraid my country will commit acts which may give short term satisfaction to angry impulses at the cost of peace. Terrorism is a symptom, and we fail to address the underlying causes. My thoughts and feelings are not easily summed up in a few pithy sentences, so I'll just leave it at that. Meanwhile, sincere best wishes to anyone who lost friends or family in the attacks, and admiration for all the rescuers and others working so hard to help the victims. It is heartwarming to see that a disaster brings out such good in people. On a lesser note, one small good thing to come out of this was that I used acrylic paints for the first time, to make this poster. I had a class project to make a couple of ads pushing some product, service, or message. Peace was all I could focus on. Sorry it's not a funny comic. Update: here is a good page of links to various webcomics with comics and art related to September 11 2001. The companion piece for this went up the next week (September 25). |
